Taxi prices in Amsterdam are one of the highest in Europe, a bit higher than Geneva. For a short ride you'll pay €16. For a longer ride, like a cross-country train ride, you'll have to pay over €60 (although in London prices are around £22, while in Barcelona they're £20). Meanwhile, this will not change in the very near future, as it will take a long time for the region's global city to realize a good taxi network. However, the lack of connectivity (except from New York) could come to stop many travelers from making the journey.
