Taxi prices in Barrie have decreased dramatically. Last year, a cab cost about $8.50 to take a short trip, and this year it's $7.50. Many new drivers now stick to rates closer to or even above minimum wage, which is about $15 an hour. It's an unsettling trend in Barrie, where municipal service charges have been steadily increasing for more than a decade.
