On the 27th of September, I ordered an Uber taxi around lunchtime to take myself and my wife from BA1 3JT to BA2 6RA. We were charged £8.22. It being midday the roads were fairly congested, but the Uber driver was very knowledgeable of the rads around him and managed to drive away from the congested areas. Around 8-9 hours later, we ordered a return taxi to the Bath Marina, but we’re charged £18.20 for the same journey. This time round there was no congestion on the roads. When I asked the driver as to why this same was journey reversed was almost £10 more than the previous one, I just received a mumbled and inconclusive reply.
Checking my bank statements today, I noticed a further Uber charge of £47.76 on Sunday 3rd October, by which time my wife and I had already returned home to Lincolnshire. It seems that the second driver not only overcharged us, but also made a fraudulent claim on our account.
Please investigate this matter and ensure we are reimbursed.
