The million dollar question, then, is why Uber doesn't open a route in Burbank? One possibility, many of us have said over the past month, is that Burbank isn't the place for the ride-hailing giant, which carries a reputation for high fare-fees, erratic operations and persistent customer service concerns. Last year, for example, Uber had to refund more than 5,000 people who were shocked to discover that their rides had been free while they were out of town or otherwise unavailable.

One of the ways to secure your travel for free is by providing your taxi and drivers with a valid I.D. Both federal and California licenses are required to operate a taxi in Burbank. Even if you have no driving experience, you may obtain a taxi driver's license in California, and then apply to have a California taxi license. If you have not gotten a taxi license in California, you can obtain a one-year license online, or in person, and get your permits in Burbank.

Uber rates in Burbank? Ride-hailing companies need to decide whether to offer driverless car services in Burbank for a fare of $1 or $2 a trip. Will Harnessing a fleet of self-driving cars boost the city's attractiveness? Ride-hailing companies still need to figure out how to ensure riders are safe and comfortable — but can plug into automated operations if warranted. What happens if Uber and Lyft get into heated negotiations? Well, chances are good that neither will be thrilled. Uber rates in Burbank for UberX remains at the very least stagnant compared to the local rate. Ride-sharing vehicles has just become marginally slower when you look at its typical delivery rate.

Taxi prices in Burbank have dropped to their lowest levels in at least seven years, as local taxi and ride-sharing services compete to keep up with surging demand. All five public taxi companies in the Burbank area have announced plans to raise rates for the holiday season, according to the The Hill. These companies, including First Transit, Tunnee, Redflex and Southwest, are competing with UberX and Lyft, which are both operating in the city. The competitors agreed to cut back on early rides so that the lowest fare is booked on Tuesday. Authorities also have increased their efforts on the highways. They have stepped up patrols along interstate and local roads with traffic cameras, and are distributing fliers.
