Taxi prices in Charleston can be an eye-opener. Many drivers who drive to our city agree. They say our service is the best anywhere. Not only do our drivers take great pride in their craft, they also genuinely love what they do. This is why over 80 percent of these drivers say their colleagues help make them feel comfortable to drive in our city.

Uber rates in Charleston and West Ashley should make you feel like a shitshow. That might be so in the short term, but it is a short term. Riders will be back at the dock and the prices will be low enough to make Uber's service the preferred option for people on the go. And that means the Charleston area is poised to become one of the most thriving cities in the nation.

Uber rates in Charleston have been going up, as many companies have entered the market with the goal of cutting costs and expanding services. Mostly Uber rates in Charleston vary based on cost of living and distance from Downtown. They also depend on how often you work and where you live. You may earn more money with UberX in areas such as Mountain Ridge, Roanoke, Palmetto, Grassy Knoll, Northampton, Dorchester, Somerset, Columbia, Canton, Gwynns Falls, Metairie, New Orleans, Tunica, Russellville, St. Tammany, Manati, Wilkes Barre, Highland Park, Greenville, ville, Kingston, Franklin, Abbeville, Biloxi, and Iredell.

Taxi prices in Charleston have increased 70 percent since the recession began and more than twice the rate of inflation. City bus drivers say drivers' tip rates have also been lower. The minimum wage is too low, a lot of people cannot get good quality education at that level and you're still going to have the number one use for them. Others argue wage cuts at Uber are necessary. Without the individual tax, city officials say, taxi cabs can't offer low prices to the low-income residents who need them most. The city of Charleston is currently hoping for a federal court ruling this year that will force Uber to raise its fares to the same levels as taxis.
