Good to know Tip: Avoid a taxi-hire service called "Uber" (Uber Taxi) that are typically found in most cities. This is a bad service, but the fastest way to get from point A to point B is to use a local taxi company.

Taxi prices in Cologne are extremely reasonable compared to all other major cities in Germany. On average, taxi fares are about 60% lower than the average fare in Frankfurt and 80% lower than the average in Munich.

Taxi fares are often significantly lower than in neighboring countries, particularly on the I-95, which is the main highway connecting the majority of Germany's cities. During busy periods, fares can be very low. Even in the mountains, this is an affordable and efficient way to get from point A to B.
