To help fund a Transportation Security Administration pilot program that will use a dashcam to see the faces of ride-sharing drivers, the transportation authority is offering free or discounted fares to Uber drivers for 72 hours. Taxi drivers also have had the option to submit paperwork for exempt Uber vehicles, but those rules were made illegal recently. Previously, you could take a Lyft (Lyft's parent company) or a taxi, a company which itself operates in two states. To now, they all have to be booked online.
