I am just trying to get an estimate from uber. Driving from 210 w. main street in Ottumwa Iowa to Marshalltown Iowa-2704 arnold drive. I am simply typing FROM- and TO address. It keeps defaulting to put in the from address. I need a ride about 100 miles to my hometown. do you drive that far?

As an Uber driver in Denver, CO, I have seen a lot of these people and have been asked a lot of questions. Most of the time it was a young, female rider, and she was upset because they were taking too long.

First, let me say, I don't know why she was upset. These people are a problem, and if you have not been affected, you are not one of them. Uber has been a problem with their prices. If you take uberX or uberXL you are paying the same as a normal car, but when you take uberXL, you are paying the uber driver 10x what they are charging. Uber's business model has been based off of high margins. This is a huge reason they have to raise prices, it means they have to increase their prices. There is a reason why Uber is not as profitable as other companies.

There are various taxi apps, including taxiCab and Lyft. I am using our app, and in the past 2 days I have been told I can drop-off and pick up in Champa at my Uber pickup point. In the past few days, there has been more competition among taxis.

The app determines the shortest distance I need to go to and from my destination to meet my Lyft passenger. If I do not need to transfer to or from Denver to the airport, I pick the shorter distance and rebook.

Uber in Denver is now using facial recognition to inform customer service questions and to assist passengers in getting a ride. When asked for a destination, Uber dispatchers no longer wait for an Uber driver to respond to a passenger. Instead, they provide an option for the driver to choose — either using the app or talking with a human support agent. Additionally, the service calls a driver directly when it finds a passenger has dropped off a passenger, so the dispatcher doesn't have to look for the passenger to confirm that they are in the car.

Taxi in Denver will now allow passengers to use their smartphones and just turn their vehicle around and drive to their next destination, without waiting to complete a check-in. In a news release, the company said it had added the new option at taxi stands to speed up service and raise revenue. Currently, all drivers must have a regular taxi or limousine license to operate. The company said it hopes the new service will encourage more people to use taxi service.

Taxi prices in Denver have increased the past two years. Last year, the biggest inflation was 12.8%, which isn't surprising given that cab rides are such a much more expensive form of transportation. Since the law took effect, an average ride on a cab ride costs approximately 1.5 cents less than a trip on the bus, according to the taxi association. Taxi prices in Denver tend to hover around $60 to $80 a cab ride. If you want to pick up some short and mid-day, uberX can often be used to get you to your destination more quickly, and are available for around $10 to $15 a ride. A similar service is LimeCab, which charges about the same as cab prices, though there is also a $4 minimum for all uberX services, with $5 for mTango, and $10 for Classic. Both services offer increased service speeds and prices.

Uber rates in Denver are so low that they cover the cost of the gasoline to drive to work, give you the option to carpool and enjoy carpooling programs, and are prepared to meet your transportation needs if they are really low. New customers will be instantly able to drive for free using service providers, taxi companies and HOV zones. Uber rates in Denver for uberX and uberXL have been drastically reduced, but the people trying to catch a ride know that being used to having a $3,200 Uber sticker on their car, can quickly become expensive. UberX drivers in Denver say they've been forced to give up their final salary to Uber, while UberXL drivers have seen their base rates cut from $8.75 to $6.25 an hour. This isn't the first time Denver Uber drivers have faced lower-than-requested fares.
