Unlike traditional taxicabs, Uber provides a simple mobile application. The app allows a rider to order a ride from another person who has an app on his phone.

It's an innovative service that drivers and riders both find convenient.

"We've learned from every move we've made," said Uber spokesman Taylor Bennett. "But we're always asking, what if we could do this better?"

One of the top factors in the city's approval was Uber's financial data to demonstrate that the company would create thousands of jobs.

Uber in Indianapolis will do to your health that is not good, especially if you're paying in a cost-effective way? Or are you assuming you will always work as an Uber driver without a comprehensive understanding of the company's ways?

This is one of the greatest questions about an industry that tends to hide behind the image of a new and friendly alternative to a corrupt, over-burdened public transit system.

Regardless of whether you are technically a Uber driver, let's talk about your health before you sign up.

Taxi prices in Indianapolis have grown 25 percent over the past decade, according to the online Reservation.com. Recently Uber announced a partnership with the IndyCar circuit to allow officials to grant temporary driver's licenses to people who are approved by the state's Department of Motor Vehicles to drive the vehicles. Drivers' licenses must be renewed every two years. Other options for customers include ride-sharing apps Uber and Lyft, and bike sharing services such as LimeBike, of Indianapolis, and PennyBike, of Indianapolis.

Uber rates in Indianapolis may seem a little higher than in other cities, but Uber has an open door policy and allows any driver that feels like they've been treated unfairly by a ride-hailing company to take their service elsewhere. Uber says that it has had "dozens" of complaints about the Indianapolis Police Department and we've seen no signs of any changes after this season. So, I think it's only fair that people vent their frustrations on Uber.

Uber rates in Indianapolis seem reasonable. The cars are expensive, but if you compare the cost of fuel (most I'm just using per mile) to the monthly payment, it seems like an excellent deal. The places I've gotten calls from are asking if I can use a carpool, but I don't want to. I don't want to share a car, or have people watching me all the time in my car. I don't want the hassle of having to be a vehicle to be on the road. Fares vary by the time of day. The average hourly wage for hourly wage workers in Indianapolis, Indiana is $12.70. To compare, the national average hourly wage for hourly wage workers is $10.51.

Taxi prices in Indianapolis go up. Prices are still more expensive than around Portland, Kaysville, or Bend, but not astronomically so. You can use UberX, for example, in the heart of the downtown a mile up the freeway from the hotel where I stayed. Rates are set very low, the rate range is actually relatively low, and rates on the relatively newer UberX platform are reasonable. You get the nice look and space for 2 people. Indianapolis' transportation economy has been thriving for more than a century, but there is an opportunity to make transportation in the city even better. Someone has to do something sooner or later.
