Taxi prices in Inverness could be up to twice the price of elsewhere in the region, it seems, amid a recent rise in demand from the city's industrial tenants. In an effort to stop them, Inverness councillors approved a ban on the firm's ticketing system for Uber and other ride-hailing companies. Councillors also voted to ban cab companies from using their takings from people being given a lift to work, or to collect donations, because they work on streets with open, straight roads.
