Uber as a provider of mobility services enables people to travel more often and more comfortably. Through these interactions, Uber partners with people in cities around the world to connect customers to their final destination and can help them earn extra money while they're on the go. The ability to connect with your preferred vehicle or driver while avoiding long rides through traffic is what keeps people coming back and, ultimately, using Uber as their preferred transportation company. Uber's goal is to help make it easier than ever to get where you want to go, whether that means going on a vacation, work, or looking for love.
"New mobility solutions like Uber are enabling people to get where they need to go much more frequently and more comfortably. By taking advantage of the ever-evolving capabilities of the connected vehicle, we've been able to dramatically reduce the time that people have to wait for a ride.

Uber rates in Mesa and Glendale, where I live, are much higher, with Uber likely paid more than they should in those areas. I have done the math on this myself on driving in Arizona as a representative of AAA. (I drive for everyone in the San Francisco Bay Area.) At $7.75/hr for a 30-minute trip, I get only about $0.07 for the extra expenses of gas and insurance. To put this in perspective, about four hours of driving would pay for my bill in a week for gas and insurance. You're far more likely to make ends meet with freelance work than you are with full-time jobs. Because of the way Lyft and Uber operate, drivers make their money when and where they need it — even when they're not using the service.

Taxi prices in Mesa, Arizona are often steep and pretty unrealistic, so we wanted to come up with a model that would increase the value of people's time. So we checked with what's being done in cities across the country to compare the economics of taxi pricing and tried to reduce one of the big advantages Uber and Lyft services have. From the ground up we figured that Uber would be more affordable for drivers than a traditional taxi as they already have the potential to increase their income. You might think that an approach like this would be risky for drivers and passengers alike, but it really isn't at all.

My son needs a ride from a care facility in Mesa to his home in Chandler. He needs help walking up the stairs. This would be on Friday, March 18 @ 10am. Is this possible.
