Uber rates in Myrtle Beach have gone up 10 percent in the last few months as commuters pay more money to get around town. To get around town, a commuter must take the bus, light rail or Uber. The only place the bus departs Myrtle Beach is on State Road 663 westbound. Many drivers are opting to take their pick-up truck, now the workhorse for trying to get to work on time. Uber drivers share the road with drivers for taxis and private vehicle service providers like Uber. The operating costs to be located in a South Carolina city vary greatly. If you live in a city with rental car industry, such as Myrtle Beach, you will likely need to offer a much more secure lease-to-own option as well as more cash.

Taxi prices in Myrtle Beach are moving to the high end. The exact value of taxi subsidies in South Carolina would be difficult to determine, said Carolina Cab Authority spokeswoman Kim Rivers. But the equation is simple: For every dollar of the levy, the state collects $6.50. The authority will apply for a waiver of the ordinance and likely win the political battle to do so, experts said. Though the taxi prices in Myrtle Beach and Long Beach are not as high as they were two decades ago, when a short walk from the beach to a grocery store would cost $2.50 or more. From whoever you call, or a taxi driver who will gladly rush you home to your hotel room, you can get groceries for less than $5. Maybe even less than that, depending on where you live.
