Taxi prices in Nisku have increased by about 15 percent in the past two years, The Nunatu Komet reports. In a city of 5,000 people, 10 percent of taxis operating in Nunatu Komet are expected to increase their prices by 20 percent. That is the same as taxis sold two years ago, when a three-to-five percent increase was expected. The vast majority of Nunatu Komet drivers are not paying the increased price, they are taking a loss. Uber rates in Nisku have shot up 90 per cent from 22.4 cents to 53.68 cents per kilometre in the same period. On subways, those rates are 5.68 cents per kilometre, up from 30 cents, taking the Nisku-bound subway's highest payment to an average of $15.29.
