Uber rates in Oakland tend to be higher than they are elsewhere in the Bay Area, because parking is so cheap in downtown. Many of the most luxurious rides cost $100. But some people argue they are not worth it. It's not worth it for me to even be a passenger because I don't think the service is very convenient. I bought a season ticket for Uber on San Pablo Avenue last season. My wife and I still got out of our car at least 10 times during the entire season, and don't plan to renew it.
