Taxi prices in San Juan have doubled over the past couple of years, posing a threat to passengers waiting for taxis to get their own ride to the airport. The 20-minute ride to the airport will cost $22 and the cab will also cost $25. With a running cost of $75, a car and driver is an expensive proposition. In contrast, the Uber price is almost twice as much and even less if you add the two standard airport ride options.
