In addition, an average of 9 percent of passengers using Uber or Lyft on their way to a hotel or restaurant were intoxicated during their ride.
The study also found that Uber and Lyft are also more likely to have passengers with prior DUI convictions in the driver's vehicle, including a disproportionate number of passengers with a history of DWI, DUI, OWI or Aggravated Assault, the report states.
"DUI arrest records reveal that over 25 percent of Uber and Lyft drivers have at least one DUI arrest within their personal driving histories," the report says.
More than a quarter of Uber and Lyft passengers had a criminal conviction in the prior five years, while the comparable figure for Lyft was 26 percent.
While the study suggests Uber and Lyft drivers could be more aware of the laws and their duties, Uber and Lyft officials say the company does not use driver screening.

Uber in Seattle works since 2009. It had a 10.1 percent increase in calls to its dispatcher during the first three months of 2016. That's up from the previous three months, when it had a 4.8 percent increase.
Decker told KIRO 7 that her company is "far from the first to make a change like this." But she also believes they did the right thing in considering the low pay of Uber and Lyft drivers and asking for approval from drivers.
It's not about Uber driving everyone to Seattle; it's about the human relationships.

Seattle is one of the best places to work and live in the country. To our knowledge, Seattle's taxi regulations are among the most lenient in the country. This is thanks to Seattle's thorough state taxi licensing system. In general, you must not be employed, have ownership stakes, or work for the state in order to be a taxi driver.

Uber in Seattle allows users to instantly find a car on request. It allows users to share rides with each other or with the public and has just launched a new feature called Uber Pool.

Uber rates in Seattle aren't quite so cheap; and unlike other overpriced cities, it is possible to go to the movies, or go to a restaurant and get dinner for under $15. Even the arts are typically cheaper than in some of the more expensive cities, with even Seattle being able to shop for street art for below a dollar per square foot. For those looking to be more self-sufficient, Seattle has the ability to have an abundant base of independent shops and restaurants that can feed and clothe the budget while you do your own shopping. Taking an Uber to travel around the city is probably the easiest way to get around, but not the cheapest though.

Taxi prices in Seattle are about the same as they were in New York City, in large part because drivers and passengers are similar here. Uber drivers with big, colorful license plates fly a lot in the city, both before and after work, a frequent occurrence that helps explain the surge prices in New York City, which have triggered a legal battle with the city. All of these factors probably influence the overall cost of a cab trip. But as much as many customers will complain about Uber's pricing policies, there are still drivers in Seattle who can justify the higher costs with their professional service.

I have taken advantage of Yellow Cab here in Seattle and I would recommend them to anyone. They are easy to book (I always have their number on my to-do list in case I really need a ride) and what is more you can call them right from the app (say 'hello'). I always order it when I get off the train, before I get into the main parking lot, and they always arrive fast.

Taxi in Seattle is inevitable – the population is so dense that you can get by on less than a million dollars a year. But if you are an independent contractor, you can't use a limo or a taxi and expect to get where you're going on time and on budget. The cab companies charge by the hour, with the best rates reserved for the "fast rides" on weekdays. You have to pay at least five bucks to get a ride, and they have a minimum charge of ten dollars for any duty.

Taxi in Seattle is just not an option for me anymore. My last 'hitch' was via Yellow Cab. When I called, I was directed to a fancy hotel near the airport. After a few hours waiting, the charge was $450. I was quite shocked because I figured I'd probably have to pay $200 to get from the airport to the hotel and then another $100 to get there.

Taxi in Seattle is exactly like Disneyland: a wonderland of that huge open world and life. I went here earlier today with four friends who are all rock stars. It's 100% the best in the industry. I wish it were more private though, even just in the cab bay. Overall, Seattle would be my choice if I was interested in driving on the freeway as well.

Taxi in Seattle is up 16 percent in 2 years , because the taxi industry can't compete with the introduction of high technology companies which provide a better service at cheaper prices. That is a source of anguish for Seattle's minority groups.

At least seven taxi drivers in Seattle reported getting calls from passengers who had been robbed. Several had just met up with someone they believed was a good Samaritan.
